Tiger Leaping Gorge Tea-Horse Guesthouse

Amazing views. I was meant to be in a 6 person dorm but they put me into a bedroom with two single beds to share with another traveller. That was ok. The main issue was it was difficult to find exactly where to check into this hostel. Turns out it's the bar.

Great view for bedroom, good coffee, good view, good location, good price, cleanliness for bedroom and shower room are fine but toilet very dirty and smelly.

Very convenient stay. The view is insane. I would recommend it more than Halfway. Halfway is much more touristic and crowded. The dinner and the breakfast (Naxi Bread with Yark meat) was incredibly delicious in the restaurant on the other side! Check-in is in the Cafe at the rooftop area. Towels were provided.

I found the hotel to be worthy of a higher rating than it has. The room was comfortable and clean and had a wonderful hot shower which I enjoyed after a sweaty day of hiking. The view from the outdoor deck is fantastic and the bar upstairs and the restaurant downstairs serve excellent drinks and food The staff was very attentive and friendly.

Hi folks! I know you have limited time and you can hardly make a decision where to stay among this hostel or the others like Halfway hostel and Tina hostel, especially if you've never been to this area, Hutaoxia or Leaping Tiger George. Without any hesitation, I would highly recommend you to stay here for a couple of reasons. 1) This is a legendary place with history. You know that. 2) There is a common area outside the cafe with comfortable tables, chairs and pillows where you can enjoy the scenery and the night starts. The view is breathtaking. In my opinion, it was much better than the one from Tigerbucks in Halfway Hostel. The restaurant is downstairs. The food was tasty and the price was reasonable. I cannot compare it with the one served by others as I had no chance to try it. The newly built rooms are even better. The floors are heated, which we Koreans are crazy about. 😊 To book those rooms, you probably need to do it at least a few months in advance. I stayed in the old one, but nothing to complain about.

Spectacular location with picture perfect sunset. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The cafe served delicious coffee and you could eat your fill in the restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a shame the whole area, including the guesthouse itself, are in the grips of development.
