Beautiful boutique hotel adjacent to the "old town", filled with traditional buildings, fabulous restaurants and shops. My garden view room was beautifully furnished, large and with many amenities, as well as oriental art. The king bed was so comfortable, and the extras were appreciated. Jimmy greeted us with a tea presentation with fruit and rose petal cakes. He was attentive and knowledgeable, as were all the staff. The breakfast room was filled with art and musical instruments, and had a wonderful view. The name Zen Garden is totally apt for this tranquil hotel. Jimmy also drove us in a very comfortable SUV EV to the train station and gave us information about our other destinations. Thank you for a wonderful stay Zen Garden. I was sorry to leave.

Amazing carved timber ancient style feeling with modern amenities. Step outside into Ancient City hustle and bustle. Staff very caring and helpful. Very enjoyable time here

The most beautiful hotel I ever stayed in. The decor is stunning looks like I was staying in a ******* monastery. We were scared it was going to be cold but the heat was so strong I had to turn it off at one point. The rooms are also oxygen supplied so didn’t have to worry about altitude sickness. Service was wonderful. The location is very convenient right in the middle or the ancient town. Highly recommend you won’t regret it.

Really Love this hotel in Shangalila ancient town. Every detail made us feel full of sincerity and care. The decoration style of the hotel is unique, which not only retains the traditional charm of the ancient city, but also incorporates modern design concepts.
The staff were very kind, attentive, and helpful. They were very patient in helping us with online arrangements for my trip planning and suggesting the good foods nearby the hotel.
Special Thanks to 小梅 for all her helps.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and I would definitely come back to Passing-Cloud if visiting Shangalila again.

Overall,the hotel was new and clean especially all staffs are friendly & helpful especially hotel manager-Mr.Kimmy which making us a pleasant stayed with his warmest welcome & arrangement and the restaurant manager-Ms.Lily Li was arranged a perfect steamboat dinner dining for us with her passion and professional.Meanwhilea,hotel b’fast was good with authentic local choice .
We will back one day soon to this hotel agin for sure,thanks to the hotel team .
P/s: Jyat a minus feed back to be improve is buggy service fr room to
Lobby was not punctual which we always need to wait.

Was happy with the hotel. Very clean and they provide towels and you can bring it home after your stay. Nice gesture from hotel. Easy walk to the centre of the ancient town. Hotel decor very grand. Nice to take photos while you rent the Chinese costumes
